life this morning. a chp officer in critical condition at an east bay hospital and a suspect is dead after a routine traffic stop turns very, very violent. christie smith is live at the hospital where family, friends, and officers are right now hoping and praying for the best. christie, good morning. >> reporter: good morning to you, jon. you know, it's very quiet here at the medical center. in fact, we haven't seen anyone coming or going this morning. but we do know that family, friends, and fellow officers are at the bedside of chp officer. and we're told that some extended family arrived from southern california yesterday where he was last listed in critical condition and on life support. and we're learning more about his life and his service. he served seven years with the chp, most recently in martinez. 37 years old, graduated from the academy in 2005, and had served in the army reserve, a dedicated father of four.

>> a super individual, a man of faith, and support, encouragement to those around him and his family members. >> and offers of support are pouring in from all over. an investigation of the actual shooting is being headed by the contra costa sheriff's department. he was shot after pulling over a jeep yesterday morning on interstate 680, a busy freeway. a second chp officer shot the man in the jeep who died at the hospital. and there's still questions over what that initial traffic stop was even for. but we're told that a key piece of evidence will be dash cam video from the patrol cars that should give a clearer picture of exactly how everything unfolded out there on the freeway. i do have calls into a chp spokesperson this morning for an update on the officer's condition. as soon as i hear anything, i'll let you know. reporting live in walnut creek, christie smith, "today in the bay." in the meantime, law

enforcement officers from around the bay area are rallying behind youngstrum. >> certainly all of us in the san francisco police department have him squarely in our hearts and prayers as well as the other chp officers and the other officers out there as this clearly indicates what could happen any day. so with a little luck, hopefully he'll be okay. >> the officer's family says they are overwhelmed by all the love and support from the law enforcement community. at the hospital, officers have been holding a vigil for him as they hope for his recovery. stay with nbc bay area news for continuing coverage of the story. you can also find the latest updates any time on our website, nbcbayarea.com. vallejo police holding a press conference in a couple hours from now to address sunday's deadly shooting of a man they say pulled a gun on an officer. this is a look at the gun, vallejo police say 23-year-old

mario romero pulled from his waistband before being shot and killed by officers. they say romero was a gang member and on felony probation for carrying a concealed weapon with a prior conviction. he was shot sunday in front of his home. 6:04. in hawaii today, the sentencing in the death of a teen who was killed while jet skiing. 20-year-old australian dagley pleaded no contest to negligent homicide in the death of the 16-year-old. he was driving fast and not looking where he was going when he slammed his jet ski into her killing her. his girlfriend who was photographing him at the time faces the charge of hindering the prosecution. investigators say she deleted two videos of the deadly crash from her camera. the night sky will light up tonight in the south bay to help bring sierra lamar home. the morgan hill teenager disappeared nearly six months

"today in the bay's" marla tellez joins us live with more on tonight's event. good morning. >> reporter: laura, good morning, it is wednesday, and that means it is search day for sierra lamar. volunteers typically head out on wednesdays from this search center, burnett elementary looking for the missing 15-year-old last seen march 16th. that's what's going on during the day. tonight, though, it's all about lighting up the night sky for sierra. it's an event called light the night for sierra. being put together by her family, friends, and the community is encouraged to take part. it gets underway at city hall in morgan hill, 7:00 tonight. now, the idea is to place flameless candles, small l.e.d. votives on the ground until the entire court at city hall is filled and lit up. you can imagine the sight that will be. organizers say once the court is filled, they'll use the candles

to send a message to help sierra find her way home. this is how you can help, if you'd like to help light the night for sierra, buy one of those votives today at this search center for $5 apiece. all the proceeds will benefit the sierra lamar fund. again, this event gets underway at 7:00 tonight at morgan hill's city hall. this morning, u.s. representative who represents much of the south bay is expected to be here at the search center to get a tour at burnett elementary. she's due here at 9:00. for now, we're live in morgan hill, "today in the bay." >> the time is 6:06. police this morning hoping someone will help them locate a missing rockland woman. the 35-year-old was last seen on august 9th, employees at one store do remember her coming in wearing an orange dress. they say she did come in alone. detectives eventually found her bag containing a cell phone and wallet at another store.

her car was later found in a parking lot in santana row. rockland police say they've been tracking her credit and atm accounts trying to figure out what happened. when she did not show up for work the next day, her family called police. >> she hasn't been with anybody. so this is a real confusing case to us as to why she hasn't made contact with her family since the beginning of august. >> she stands 5'6", weighs about 135 pounds, you can see there, she has a visible gap between her front teeth. we're being told she speaks with a russian accent. and because she left rockland on her own, police are treating this one as a missing persons case. 6:07, the san jose firefighter who had a heart attack on the job looks like he's on the road to recovery. frank ryan woke up from a medically induced coma yesterday. he had collapsed last week while battling a fire at st. patrick's church. ryan's friends say he's not only awake but he's in good spirits, as well. today, doctors will reevaluate ryan and decide if they can

upgrade his condition from critical to serious. well, we now have a better idea of how many people were actually affected by that virus outbreak at yosemite. u.s. health officials have issued warnings to travelers from 39 different countries, most of them in the european union about 1/4 of the 10,000 people thought to be at risk for contracting the virus live outside the u.s. so far, the disease has killed two people and sickened four others. the outbreak happened between june and august. many of those exposed to the virus were staying in curry village. it's 6:08, time to check the forecast once against with christina loren. feeling the changes already. >> yeah, we are tracking showers on radar, good wednesday morning to you. we've activated the radar. i wanted to show you the wide view because it's not a lot of activity, but the places that are getting the rain are really getting hit. our political analyst just called me and said it is pouring

in los gatos this morning. yeah, i'm getting a lot of calls into the weather center this morning. and this is the reason why, this just developed over the course of the past half hour, starting in lexington hills, moderate rainfall coming down from cupertino to san jose. mike inouye is tracking your highways. we have this cool integration where you can see the speed sensor slowing in the areas getting the showers, in fact, that's the case. this is your hour-by-hour forecast today. 84 degrees at noon inland. with a mix of sun and clouds and thunderstorms, we're fair game throughout this afternoon. we'll let you know if you have an even better chance of seeing the showers with more moisture on the way tomorrow. 6:09 first as promised here's mike. >> and as christina as you told folks, rain did come through the area. let me show you what we're talking about with these maps. you see the speed sensors slowing north 101, the volume builds, that's why we have

welcome back. and because we always go above and beyond, we take you live to the space station, the international space station up there. a couple of astronauts are actually outside of it working, trying to fix a power unit that apparently was not properly installed during an earlier space walk this week. that's very cool. you can listen in as they're working there. these astronauts will spend about 6 1/2 hours working in space. a lot of work ahead for these guys. kind of making everything's working tight there. >> that's what we see it as. it's very precise work. >> that's very cool. i love that. >> all right. >> millions of miles away. >> welcome back to planet earth. it's 6:13. here's a quick check of the day's top stories. >> yes, indeed. a chp officer right now fighting for his life this morning after a traffic stop on interstate

680. he pulled a jeep wrangler over before 9:00 yesterday morning, the driver opening fire and hitting him. coming up at 6:30, a live report and an update on the officer's condition. and after almost six months after sierra lamar disappeared, friends and family will gather to show she's not been forgotten. a vigil for lamar will be held tonight in morgan hill. plus, some great news this morning for the family of a south bay firefighter who collapsed while on the job. frank ryan now awake and he is responsive. actually, we've been told dropping a little humor now and then making guys laugh. doctors will examine him today to see if he can update his condition. is the fbi tracking your ipad? >> all good questions. scott mcgrew, lots of things to look at this morning. >> yeah, good morning to you. hackers associated with the

group anonymous, jon, posted special identification numbers, sort of like serial numbers for apple products. and the numbers call udids have bedevilled apple. they've been a security problem since the very first issue of the first ipad. but it's where the hackers say they got the numbers 12 million of them that's peculiar. the group says they got them from the fbi after a laptop which would lead one to ask, why does the fbi have my apple iphone or ipad information? the fbi absolutely denies the accusation posting to twitter this morning we never had info in question, bottom line, totally false. now, if someone has your unique apple identifier, it's not anything to lose any sleep over. the big question is where the data came from. if not the fbi, is there a popular app out there leaking the number? the hacker group promised to release more information if a blogger by the name of adrian

chen dressed up in a ballet tutu and put a shoe on his head. so, ladies and gentlemen, he did as asked. shoe on your head, one of those weird internet means. we will keep you updated to see if this did him and us any good. other news, took a look at users and discovered people are leaving fewer voice mails, 8% fewer than this time last year. that's a huge change. what's even more interesting, laura and jon, is 14% fewer voice mails were retrieved. in other words, those who still do really shouldn't bother because the people that are leaving them for aren't listening to them. >> something to think about. all right, scott. thank you very much. well, the battle to bring oakland a's down to the south bay is heating up. san jose leaders taking a tougher stance on opponents. today bob redell is in the newsroom with more details on what the city's planning to do next. bob, good morning. >> san jose has been trying to get the oakland a's to move to the south bay for three years, a

move that has been opposed by the san francisco giants. the giants arguing that silicon valley is part of their major league baseball territory. there's even a community group called stand for san jose that has sued to stop the city from building a new a's ballpark because of environmental concerns. well, now the city of san jose has gone to court asking a judge for permission to delve into the background of the group stand for san jose. the mercury news reports the city wants to see if that organization has any ties to the san francisco giants. to see if the giants are manipulating the process. the legal argument being if the people for stand for san jose are city taxpayers who don't want the a's in their backyard, fine, but if their backers include business competitors, in other words the san francisco giants, then stand for san jose should have no legal standing and not be allowed to sue the city over this proposed ballpark. the giants had no comment on this latest legal maneuver, though the paper reports the team is no longer a supporter of stand for san jose. in court papers, stand for san

jose called this move on behalf of the city a violation of their free speech rights. it is ultimately up to major league baseball to resolve this territorial dispute between the giants and the a's. something that has been going on as i mentioned for three years now. when commissioner bud selig will announce a decision, that part not clear. jon, laura? >> bob redell, thank you very much. >>n't way to check in with christina loren. she's tracking some precipitation over the bay area this morning. >> my eyes are lit up this morning. >> yeah. >> it's been a rather boring summer for us meteorologists. not a lot to talk about until this very morning. if you're just joining us, we've got showers on the radar and they could likely slow your commute in the south bay because they're becoming more and more widespread as time draws on. so let's get right to it. as you can see from the wide view, it's the south end of the bay area that's seen the activity. but as i zoom in for you, yeah, we're getting moderate precipitation right now between campbell, los gatos, saratoga, a

little bit of action there on the east end of town. throughout the day today, we'll continue to see this and right now we're just about five to ten minutes away from showers moving through. and that'll be the case throughout the next couple of hours and then things are going to start to die down a little bit, then we're going to get thunderstorms this afternoon. a really interesting set-up. high pressure pumping up some tropical moisture from the south. we actually had a tropical system named john coincidentally, and it made its way far enough north to where we'll see the moisture sucked up in the flow today. mostly we've seen light showers. as we pick up that daytime heating today, that's when it gets a little bit tricky because our atmosphere is unstable and the warmer it gets, the more convection we get. so, yeah, could see some pretty active scenarios as we head throughout this afternoon, especially on the western-facing slopes surrounding san jose. so, yeah, we will be on storm watch today, concord, we stop the clock for you at 6:00 a.m.

tomorrow morning getting more steady rain and it's going to surge a little bit further to the north tomorrow morning, so even antioch and fairfield, stop that clock again at 9:00 a.m. and we could even measure maybe 1/10 inch of precipitation, which we need as it's been very dry this summer. 83 degrees in san jose, and temperatures are going to drop off, we'll lose that sticky-icky feeling, quoted by one snoop dogg -- excuse me, snoop ryan. my bad, mike. >> updating, always current with the kids there. >> looking over here, current with the traffic flow, 101, look how slow it is under the 680/280 interchange. let's look at the maps. shows you two things. north up to the airport for 101, but also a little rain and precipitation as christina calls it. wet roads, that's what the

sensors say, slowing for 17, and an accident around laurel. wet roads, watch that volume of traffic really building here. a live look outside. let's get quick ones, palo alto, 101, smoothly along the peninsula, no delays through this area. across the bay, 92 looks nice, there's that big burst of volume for 92 westbound across the bridge, but again, you're flowing smoothly and the bay bridge not so smooth. this is the toll plaza. but on the span itself past the metering lights, then you're okay. back to you guys. >> thank you very much. in about a month or so, it's going to start getting easier to catch the cabs in san francisco. a plan to add 150 to 200 taxi operating permits was approved by the san francisco municipal transportation agency. the permits will be phased in over the remainder of the year. they need more cars on the street to meet the demand. the many drivers are opposed to increase in competition saying it's already tough to get fares in that city. >> all right. sounds like at least a bump in

as the crowd was on their feet several times. >> first lady michelle obama certainly wowed democrats last night with speech focused on family values. tracie potts live in charlotte, north carolina, with more on the first night of the democratic national convention and, of course, what's coming up today. good morning. >> good morning, good morning, everyone. she talked last night about family values from a very personal perspective. her family, her parents, her dad who was a working class father who went to work even when he was disabled to pay for college tuition for she and her brother. and he spoke yesterday, as well. she talked about the same values in her husband's family. a single mom raising her kids with the grandparents helping, a grandmother who hit the glass ceiling because of her education. and so her goal here was to really try to connect her husband with average middle class americans. coming up tonight, we will hear from former president bill clinton. he's the featured keynote speaker and still the most

at this hour, family and friends hold vigil at the bedside of the chp officer shot in the line of duty yesterday on an east bay freeway. i'm christie smith coming up in a live report. the latest on his condition and what we're learning about the officer's service. and new this morning, the search for a missing teenager sierra lamar moves straight to morgan hill's city hall. good morning, i'm marla tellez live from the search center. the story still ahead. and uc davis may soon will be able to put in incident behind it. the settlement that could soon be made with the students involved.

live look at wall street this morning, opening bell. we'll see how the markets fair on this wednesday, september 5th, this is "today in the bay." good wednesday morning to you. >> good morning, everybody, i'm jon kelley. a chp officer this morning clinging to life after a traffic stop turned extremely violent. the officer pulled over a black jeep wrangler yesterday morning, something then went terribly wrong during the stop. and he was shot. another officer then stepped in on the scene, opened fire, and killed that suspect. the officer right now is in the medical center where he was rushed in walnut creek and that is where "today in the bay's" christie smith is live this morning. and christie, the obvious question here, any updates, hopefully good news on his condition.

. >> reporter: well, i'm sure that is what everyone's hoping for out here. but i have to tell you, it's been rather quiet here at the medical center. but dozens of officers have been in and out of the hospital ever since that shooting early yesterday morning when that officer was brought here. and extended family members also at the bedside of the officer. they're from southern california, the 37-year-old chp officer last listed, we were told, in critical condition and on life support after he was shot in a traffic stop yesterday morning, as you mentioned. but we are learning more about him, that he served several years with the chp, graduated with the academy in 2005, once served in the army reserve. a married father of four. friends say he was a family man really devoted to his family and his job. i do have calls into the chp

this morning for an update on his condition as soon as i hear from them, i'll let you know what they had to say. reporting live in walnut creek, christie smith, "today in the bay." 6:32, the legal drama could soon be over for u.c. davis and the students at the infamous pepper spray incident. lawyers for the university have reached a settlement. they are expected to consider that deal next week. 21 people filed suit after that incident you see on your screen. campus police dousing them with pepper spray during a protest last fall. the officer at the center of the case was eventually fired. a new effort is underway to find sierra lamar, the community will gather for a special vigil in honor of the missing south bay teenager later today. "today in the bay's" marla tellez is live with more on how you can help with the search effort. good morning. >> reporter: well, volunteers head out from this search center looking for sierra lamar as they

do almost every wednesday. her family is going to be getting ready for what's being called light the night for sierra. really it's a unique approach to keeping sierra's memory alive. it also is a fundraiser. it all gets started tonight at 7:00 at morgan hill's city hall. volunteers, friends, and family members will be placing candles on the ground until the entire court at city hall is filled and lit up. for safety reasons, they're going to be using all l.e.d. votives that will be placed inside a white bag filled with sand. then using the flameless candles, a special message for sierra will be created. this is to help her find her way home. now, it is approaching the six-month mark since the 15-year-old was last seen while her body has not been found, the suspect is in custody. if you'd like to help light the night for sierra, you can buy one of those votive bags today at this search center where we are this morning. this is burnett elementary in

day. i say that because you really need that daytime heating to ramp up the thunderstorm activity and to create those strong storms. so as we head throughout the day today, the spc, the storm prediction center has given us a strong risk for the bay area. you want to keep that in mind, we will be watching everything for you, the nbc bay area weather center all day long, but it's one of those days where we're going to get action in the weather department. 6:35 first, give yourself some extra time for those showers and school back in session. here's mike with your drive. >> always shower before school. and the showers on the road, yes. christina, 17 did have those, wet roads reported and an accident now northbound 17 one lane blocked just north of the laurel curve there as you're heading to the summit. southbound side, not a big deal heading out los gatos, but again, watch the wet roads. north 101 really jamming up. as you approach up toward the airport, that's a traditional spot. a live look outside shows you

deep concern over a surge of assault, afghan president hamid karzai said today he's doing all he can to try and stop these violent assaults. a total of 45 nato troops have been killed by insider attacks so far this year. most of them have been u.s. soldiers. authorities say about 25 of those attacks have confirmed or suspected the links to the taliban. the spike of insider violence

middle class. new video released this morning could mean more trouble for boeing. take a look at this, a 787 dream liner actually had to abort takeoff in japan this morning after smoke started billowing from its engines. they said it was a leaking hydraulic pump. good news, no one was hurt. back in 2005, five airliners in the fleet were grounded after tests revealed a risk of engine corrosion. >> wow, not so dreamy. >> that's not so good. i want to check in with christina with a look at the forecast today. some rain coming down. >> yeah, smells like rain in the south -- >> yeah. >> refreshing. >> may have woken up to the pitter patter of rain drops on your rooftop. and yeah, questioning, is it raining? yes, in fact, it is raining out there in parts of the bay area. hard to believe as this time of year we're typically talking about heat and sunshine. today we're going to get heat and sunshine in addition to these isolated thunderstorms. in fact, that daytime heating is going to continue contribute to the fueling of some of these

thunderstorms and we could get strong cells throughout the second half of the day. right now, i wanted to show you the wide view of the whole bay area to show you it's not that impressive as you look at it from a 10,000-foot view. look at some of these cells. they're impressive. people are reporting moderate to heavy rainfall coming down in san jose, even campbell and los gatos this morning and all that activity is pushing up towards livermore and the tri-valley. you're headed toward some steady rain in livermore and about 55 minutes from now, pleasanton, you're about 45 minutes away from steady rainfall and that will contribute to a slick commute. give yourself extra time there. woo ere going to be in this pattern for the next couple of days, and tomorrow gets more active as more of the tropical moisture surges up from the south. combination, an area of low pressure coming in. this is what's going to really set off the fireworks. if we do see those thunderstorms. tail end of that area of low pressure will swing through the bay area. that's going to capture some of that subtropical moisture and transport it right here. we've got instability out there,

as well with the two systems working against each other. we have that potential for thunderstorms. picking up some this morning, expecting more this afternoon as it heats up. and we've got the clock at 7:00 a.m. tomorrow morning, another round of steady rain in the south bay that will continue until 9:00 a.m. yes, that's rush hour. so keep that in mind. slow commute today, probably because of those showers and tomorrow. we'll get the official word from mike in just a moment. 83 degrees in san jose, 90 in livermore, and 69 degrees still holding on to that warmth in san francisco. as we head through saturday and sunday, things start to drop off just a little bit and get more comfortable. we'll have that dry heat. 86 degrees saturday/sunday. here he is, mike, what do we have out there? >> well, we do have slowing and that's because it's 580. and there was some lumber in the roadway, cleared just past grant line road. warning folks for the tri-valley, rain may be coming and that may play a factor in 580, which is already slowing from the dublin interchange. prepare for some wetter roads

because, look at this, this is a south bay, she showed the rain having come through, wet roads registering for 680, 880, and 17 coming out of those hills and off of the summit, as well. both directions for your commute for 17. a live look at that volume of traffic for 101, really slowing down north of 680. from tully up to 880, slow in that section. fremont shows the effects of weather. some wind moving that flag around. and some slowing as the skies get a little grayer. southbound side, heading toward mission boulevard. the bay bridge also slows down because the metering lights are there. but you do see some movement, the east shore freeway is moving, all right. and low clouds not really so much of a factor here. >> probably slick out there, be careful, thank you, mike. it's 6:49. a first of its kind event will be held tonight to help bring sierra lamar home. the morgan hill teenager vanished nearly six months ago. police say 23-year-old mario romero pulled this gun from his waistband on sunday. prompting officers to open fire. romero was an alleged gang member and on a felony probation for carrying a concealed weapon with a prior conviction. family members say the police account is untrue. an officer is a father of four and he is fighting for his life. he remains in critical condition at an east bay hospital at a routine traffic stop, that is, turns violent and deadly. "today in the bay's" christie smith with more on the wounded officer's condition. good morning. >> reporter: good morning to you, jon. it's been rather quiet this morning at the medical center, but make no mistake, there has been a huge outpouring of support for the officer. fellow officers going in and out of the hospital, also extended family members here from southern california where he was last listed in critical condition and on life support.

we are learning more about his life, served seven years with the chp, most recently in martinez, had served in the army reserve, a dedicated father of four. >> i have been speaking with the officer's family. and they have asked me to convey their thanks to their extended family and friends, to law enforcement, and public safety community. >> now, the contra costa county sheriff's department is heading up the investigation into the shooting. he was shot after pulling over a jeep yesterday morning on interstate 680. apparently busy freeway. a second officer then shot the man in the jeep who died, and there are still questions over what that initial stop was for. a key piece of evidence, we are told, should be coming from the dash camera from the patrol cars. reporting live in walnut creek, christie smith, "today in the bay." >> 6:53. the san jose firefighter who collapsed while fighting a fire

last week is alert and talking this morning. frank ryan collapsed while battling a fire last week. ryan's best friend and fellow firefighter russ davis says ryan is not only speaking, but answering questions in his usual frank style with humor. doctors will reevaluate ryan today to determine if his condition can be upgraded from critical to serious. san jose leaders are calling foul on some opponents who are channeling their quest to land the oakland a's. bob redell joins us live in our newsroom with more details on that continuous battle to bring the a's to the south bay. good morning, bob. >> yeah, continuing on for three years now san jose has been trying to get the oakland a's to move to south bay. this is a move opposed by the san francisco giants. giants argue that silicon valley is part of the major league baseball territory. there's even a community group called stand for san jose that has sued to stop the city from building a new a's ballpark because of environmental concerns. now the city has gone to court

asking a judge for permission to delve into the background of stand for san jose. the stipwants to see if that organization has any ties to the giants. to see if the giants are manipulating the process. their legal argument being if the people who stand for san jose are taxpayers who don't want the a's in the backyard, fine, but if the backers include business competitors, in other words the san francisco giants, then stand for san jose should have no legal standing and, therefore, not be allowed to sue the city over this proposed ballpark. the giants had no comment for the paper on this latest legal maneuver, though the paper reports the team is no longer a supporter of stand for san jose. in court papers, stand for san jose calls this move on behalf of the city a violation of their free speech rights. it is ultimately up to major league baseball, by the way, to resolve this territorial disspace sudispute between the giants and a's, something going on for three years now. when commissioner bud selig will announce the decision, to be

determined. jon, laura? >> thank you very much, bob. now wife of the late steve jobs will soon be taking a leadership position at stanford. >> according to a popular blog. scott mcgrew, she is a stanford grad. >> that's right and steve jobs gave that stirring graduation speech back in 2005. the pair actually met on the farm when she was a student, he was a guest lecturer. she will join the school's board of trustees. jobs has been involved in education issues for several years now. stanford will, according to the report, make that announcement official later today. facebook stock is 3% higher this morning after the company took steps to prop the stock up. mark zuckerberg says he won't sell any shares for a year. far more important is the company's canceling of the secondary offering. it would have sold more of the shares, shares the market didn't want, didn't need. finally nasa and the university of arizona have an online contest open to kids only to name a big asteroid.

the rain showers. quite a bit just about 15 minutes ago, woo ere go i think to continue to see these showers stream onshore throughout the day today and more of those isolated thunderstorms. we'll keep you updated throughout the "today" show. one more check on your drive as you can imagine school's back in session, showers, it's probably slowing, let's check that with mike. >> and it is slowing because of the volume, but also look behind me this map integrated with christina's radar data. wetter roads for 880, 17, 680, 280, and that's right where we're seeing the build for the traffic, as well. all these folks hit the highway, they're also perhaps getting some slicker roads. just prepare for that. sunol, 680 showing slowing, as well. the southbound side of 680 are from our live camera would show us some slowing just as you're traveling southbound around the bend. those low clouds christina's talking about coming into the tri-valley also may affect visibility over the top of the hill. watch for wetter roads, as well, through sunol and into dublin a little later on. and finally, another live shot will show us things on the peninsula are moving very nicely
